Neighbourhood Plan
Westhampnett Parish Council (as a relevant body for the purposes of section 61 G of the 1990 Town and Country Planning Act) has applied for designation of Westhampnett Parish as a Neighbourhood Area in accordance with Part 2, Paragraph 5 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012; In order that the Parish can produce a Neighbourhood Plan.
The map (right) highlights the area to be designated as the Parish of Westhampnett; the Parish includes the settlements of Westhampnett, Maudlin and Westerton. As an area it is appropriate to be considered for jurisdiction as it incorporates the Parish in its entirety. The Neighbourhood Plan will consider the appropriateness and benefits of writing planning policies for each individual settlement area of Westhampnett Parish as well as policy for the Parish as a whole.
Following determination of the Local Plan and the route for the Chichester by-pass; work on the Neighbourhood Plan has re-commenced and is currently in the last phases.
It is hoped that it will be completed early in 2018 and the Plan finalised by Summer 2018.
